Schenectady to Tucson

Under the impression there was work waiting for me in AZ, I packed the car and headed down torwards the southwest. Over the course of 3 days, I traveled 2500 miles (half of that was in one day), went through a gallon of oil, and I don't know how many stops at gas stations [side note: This country is pretty fucking big].

The best was as soon as I LEFT NYS, everything got better. Roads were better maintained, built of concrete, not cheap asphalt, gas was cheaper. Fireworks, liquor, and every type of blade is readily availible. I guess the thing is, in NYS, if a kid blows a finger off playing with a firecracker ALL firecrackers become illegal. A pistol is used to rob a bank, then NOBODY can [legally] carry pistols but the cops.

Speaking of cops, everytime I saw a cop (save twice), they were HELPING people, not simply ticketing like they do in NY. I saw em helping change tires, work under the hood, etc. In NY the only time I see cops are when they have a ticket book in one hand, and a gun in the other.
