I tried to go camping in this region, but the current hurricanes moving up the eastern seaboard of the US meant constant rain. The day started nicely, but as soon as I got within range of the summit my party and I were pummeled by torrential downpours. About 4" an hour landed on us. I had taken the entire week off for vacation and this is all I got to climb. For any New Yorker's reading, this is the storm that wiped out I-87 near Bolton Landing for a week.
