Montezuma
FAnother adventure into Colorado's back country. This time up another 4wd trail near Montezuma, a loop called "Saints John/Deer Creek"Very quick climb on top of the ridge, then following that to various view points. It's a lot flatter up there then one would expect, with fields of wildflowers and grasses, rather than just rocks.

Waldorf Mine
Found an old mine on a 4wd trail that looked like something to explore. Wasn't dissapointed either, half the mine town is intact, and I'm tempted to go explore inside the mine shaft sometime in the future. Got a good look at the back country of Colorado, and how friendly it is to guns, ATV trails, and just getting away from civilization.

Green Mountian
There was a thick fog in the morning when I left, but it cleared to blue skies by the time I summited. One the way back down, the clouds started rolling in from the Rockies. All in all, a nice 5mi trail with good views, good trails, and plenty of areas to go exploring.

Brainard Park
A coworker reccomended this area of Colorado for a day trip. It's a bit farther north then she reccomended, but it was totally worth it. 80-degrees in the city, 30 in the mountains. I went snowshoing in the morning, and was wearing shorts in the afternoon on my patio.

Echo Lake Park
While driving around the Rockies, the weather turned bad and the views at higher elevations were gone. Just driving farther up the road was the same as driving through a cloud [which I was]. So I pulled off at this park near Mt Evans and walked around for a while. I plan to go back in nicer weather someday.

Scenic Bypass Road
While looking for a new set of views (but not something that will take all day), I stumbled upon 2 sets of roads that would form a nice loop around the "Front Range" of Colorado. Got to see a whole new set of views, learned some nice little shortcut roads over the Rockies, and found out where some strategically located trailheads are.

Mt Evans
A visitor from NY came out on a "business" trip, so not only did I have company out here from home, but the goverment was picking up the bill for him being here :) I took him exploring around Denver and the Rockies, with his trip ending on Mt Evans before having to catch flight back to wretched NYS.

Big Dry Creek

The local bike trail. It's just this route because it's more scenic. I'll do more trips north later.

USAF Museum
The official Museum of the USAF near Dayton, Ohio. It's the world's largest and oldest military aviation museum with more than 400 aircraft and missiles on display, most of them indoors :) Oh yeah, free admission year round. I also signed up for the behind-the-scenes resortation tour and got to see the memphis belle while they're getting her ready to be displayed around 2015.

Valor Park

A memorial park devoted to the service men and women who gave their lives in service of the Air Force. It's a very somber place, but reading all those plaques kinda makes you glad they did what they did, regardless of the risks.
